Peru: Castillo's approval ratings go up and Fujimori down

Peru's virtual president-elect, Pedro Castillo, the winner of the June 6 run-off according to official figures has 48% approval, while his rival Keiko Fujimori, is at 30%, according to a survey by consultancy Ipsos.

WIth regard to the negative image, the conservative leader and daughter of former president Alberto Fujimori has 65%, while the leftist unionist is 47%, according to the same source.

The poll signals the growing disapproval of Fujimori's strategy of denouncing fraud in the elections, despite local authorities and five international electoral observer missions ruling that out.
