Moderna confirms 20-million-dose deal with Argentina

U.S. laboratory Moderna confirmed the agreement reached with the Argentine government for 20 million vaccines against SARS-COV2 and clarified that distribution will begin in the first quarter of 2022.

"We appreciate the support of the government of Argentina with this agreement to supply doses of the Moderna vaccine or our candidates for boosters against variants," said Stéphane Bancel, CEO of Moderna.

The agreement had been announced on Sunday. This is the first contract involving mRNA platform vaccines for Argentina, and it also paves the way for receiving donations from the United States this year.
