They came here to flee homophobia in their home countries RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

In Argentina there are 43 LGBTIQ refugees

According to data from the Argentine Refugee Commission, between January 2010 and June 2020, a total of 116 people whose freedom and physical integrity were at risk in their countries of origin applied for admission to the country.

Almost 40 percent of these requests were granted refugee protection, in accordance with international law. Most of them are Russian and Jamaican.
Homosexuality is still punishable in 77 states or regions; in 12 of them with "effective or possible" death penalty, according to the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA).

According to the Commission, these people chose Argentina "because of its worldwide reputation as a leader in LGBT rights and freedoms, and one of the few countries that allows same-sex marriage to foreigners.

However, sources pointed out that in Argentina "there is an entrenched racism and they are discriminated against or insulted not because they are gay, lesbian or transgendered, but because they are migrants of African background".
