CMBF National Music Radio Cuba pays homage to Astor Piazzolla

A tribute to Astor Piazzolla will be aired from Havana, on the occasion of the 100 years of the Argentinian musician's birth that is being marked throughout this 2021. The week-long tribute will feature interviews and live shows by the Cuban radio station.

Argentina's Minister of Culture, Tristán Bauer and Alejandro Pont Lezica, executive director of Radio Nacional plus Eduardo Barone, journalist and host at Radio Nacional Folklórica will all be taking part in the cycle.

The Argentine artists' line-up includes Omar Mollo with the Gran Orquesta Típica, guitarist Juan Falú (National Music Prize of Argentina, composer, guitarist and former secretary of Culture at the Argentine Foreign Ministry) and the legendary singer Amelita Baltar (who recorded with Piazzolla), among others.

The inauguration of the Piazzolla Week, on Monday 17th, will be made by the Ambassador of Argentina in Cuba, Luis Alfredo Ilarregui together with Maestro Daniel Barenboim, Argentine pianist and orchestra conductor.
