RAE ARGENTINA TO THE WORLD

Brazil could reach 600,000 deaths in July

The University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation projected that, by the end of June, the pandemic could have claimed the lives of between 507,000 and 595,000 Brazilians, as reported by ANSA news agency.

Despite such a scenario, president Jair Bolsonaro's government is not responding to the increase in cases and refuses to implement preventive measures or restrictions. A clear example of this was Easter Sunday, when evangelical churches in some capitals were packed with worshippers after a Supreme Federal Court judge authorised the holding of worship ceremonies despite the pandemic.
